Welcome to the News page of AMMCOR Reviews! As many of you know, AMMCOR is a strong believer in the importance of giving back to the community. To them, success means nothing if you do not share the financial blessings that come with it. This is why, for years now, they have been actively supporting the initiatives of various non-profits and organizations. One of these is the American Humane organization. In this page, AMMCOR Reviews will share details and information about the organization’s programs and events in hopes of encouraging readers to get involved.

The two programs that the company regularly supports are Shelter to Service and Hero Dog Awards. Both initiatives have been briefly discussed in a blog post, but for the sake of readers visiting this site for the first time, below is a brief description of both.

Shelter to Service

Shelter to Service is a program aimed at providing war veterans suffering from PTSD or TBI with a trained service dog. AMMCOR Reviews shares that the service dog is from an animal shelter and training is undertaken by the American Humane organization. The dogs are trained to respond to the needs of their veteran, from getting their medication for them to giving them comfort when they sense that their human is in distress.

If you are a war veteran diagnosed with PTSD or TBI and need a service dog, you are encouraged to visit the Shelter to Service page of the American Humane website so you can apply for a service dog.

Hero Dog Awards

Now on its 8th year, the Hero Dog Awards recognizes the extraordinary actions of dogs in the service of their humans. They could be dogs trained for law enforcement, battlefield, therapy, and as guide or hearing dogs; and they could also be ordinary dogs doing extraordinary service for their human.

For both, AMMCOR Reviews will share events and ways to get involved to encourage others to support the programs as well. You can make a one-time donation or commit to a monthly donation for one or both.

American Humane Lois Pope K-9 Medal of Courage Aware

Another initiative that recognizes the heroic acts of service dogs is the American Humane Lois Pope K-9 Medal of Courage Awards. This award is given to service dogs that helped military servicemen on the battlefield. AMMCOR Reviews shares a quote from the American Humane website regarding the inaugural awards:

“The inaugural American Humane Lois Pope LIFE K-9 Medal of Courage, bestowed at an awards ceremony on Capitol Hill with Congress and top military leaders, honors retired military dogs who demonstrated exceptional valor in serving our country.”

For this award, nominations are still currently being accepted.

Emergency Veterinary Grants for Military Dogs

Recognizing that service dogs on the battlefield sustain wounds and injuries that could affect them for the rest of their lives (much like their military humans), the American Humane organization spearheaded a program that will provide veterinary care to retired military dogs, specifically financial grants that can pay for emergency treatments to wounded military dogs.

There are other initiatives and events by the American Humane organization, developed for wounded veterans, and service dogs as well as abused, neglected, or abandoned dogs. AMMCOR Reviews will post more of these in the coming days so kindly stay tuned for that.
